An introduction

We are a Christian faith community that is committed to showing the love of Jesus to all people. No matter your background, race, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation, we welcome you as Jesus has welcomed us. If you are looking for the perfect church, we're probably not the place for you. But if you're looking for a place to belong, grow spiritually and learn who Jesus is, it would be our privilege to have you.

"I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

— Jesus Christ, Matthew 9:13

We want the city of Battle Creek and our corner of Urbandale to be different because of us. United Methodists are so audacious that we believe that God's Kingdom can come to us here and now, and that we don't have to wait until we get to heaven to experience it. The way it comes is through acts of mercy and love. As followers of Jesus, we are on a journey to become more and more committed to acts of mercy and justice for our world.

Your children are more than welcome to stay with you during worship. When we mean they can stay, that means we don't expect them to stop being kids. Kids are squirmy. Kids don't sit still for an hour worship service, and that's great! We welcome your kids to be kids. We have coloring books available if they'd like one. However, if you would like some adult time, we have an area for them to play (pictured above) while you worship. There is also a crib and rocking chair next door if you have infants or babies.

Got older kids? We have Sunday School available for them as well. Of course they are more than welcome to stay for the entire worship service but if they'd rather hang out with kids their own age, they can go do a Bible-centered activity down the hall.
